Chase Suspect A Documented Gang Member

NEAR GOLD HILL, Ore. — Sheriff officials are asking for your help finding a man that led them on a high speed chase on Monday afternoon, as well as numerous times previously. Police say he’s likely armed and dangerous and has been identified as documented Norteno gang member.

The most recent chase began when a deputy pulled out onto a road, on his way to a different call. He says the driver, now identified as 21-year-old Toby Martinez, began speeding up, trying to get away from the sheriff’s car.

The deputy attempted to pull him over and Martinez sped up, swerving through traffic until he crashed into a ditch near Gold Hill and ran. They were not able to track him down. No one was injured in that pursuit, officials said it was a very fortunate outcome.

Officials also said Martinez was also involved in another high speed pursuit on September 3rd. Anyone with information on his whereabouts are asked to contact the sheriffs office.

So is there like a certification test for gang bangers? Courses you can take at RCC?
