Competitors include everything from web designers to insurance agencies. Lawn and Bush Salon Landscaping is one of the few in the area that is closing in on the target goal, with 243 votes at last check on Tuesday afternoon. The company only employs one full time landscaper and two part time workers. Owners say the grant money will help in purchasing more equipment and hiring more hands.
Expansion is a common thread amongst many businesses in the running. Fitzgerald Gas Services is one of fourteen Medford business competing. The one-man operation is also looking to widen its service opportunities.
