Charged for Home Improvement Work Scam

|LINN COUNTY, Ore.– A Vancouver man is facing charges for charging people for home improvements, but then scamming them out of their money.

Jeffrey Woodhouse was sentenced by a Linn County Judge to another 13 months in prison for theft and working as an unlicensed contractor. This after a Linn County couple paid him $4,400 for improvements that he never even started. The judge also ordered that Woodhouse pay the couple back their money.

Officials say this case was one of many involving the 42-year-old. They say it is important to contact the construction contractors board to make sure people are licensed before hiring them.
