CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — If you are driving through Central Point you might have noticed some big construction projects in the works. The city is working with ad companies and other agencies on improving its downtown.
One of the big projects is the addition of a Walgreen’s at the corner of North Pacific Highway and Pine Street. City officials have been implementing an urban renewal for several years that they say will help revive the Pine Street Region.
“Identify kind of as a unique identity all our own. different from Jacksonville, different from Medford, different from Ashland. That’s what we are working on now, and in the next few years,” said Central Point’s Community Development Director Tom Humphrey.
City officials hope that the construction of new businesses and investment in existing ones will help to make Central Point more traffic and tourist friendly.
