MEDFORD, Ore. — It is the end of an era for one local golf course. Cedar Links Golf Course in Medford will officially close their doors at dark Saturday.  The golf course has been in business for past 41 years.

The golf course has been in business for 41 years.  It officially started as a 9 hole golf course back in 1972, and expanded to 18 holes years later.  Currently, the back nine remains open.  The restaurant attached to the course shut down earlier this month.

The owner said reality has not set in yet, and that it is hard to fathom that it is closing forever.  He said there is still a lot of work that needs to be done before the land is handed over to its new owners on October first.

“We have a lot of equipment to move… A lot of personal items… after 41 years you have a tendency to build up a lot of personal stuff,” said Kelley Jantzer.

The city of Medford bought five and a half acres of the land and plans on building a new park.  The rest of the land was sold two months ago to Wes Norton and Eric Artner.
