A number of battles for 1st place highlight this week’s Round Ball Wrap, but none of them compared to the battle for the top spot in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Highlights include Southern Oregon and College of Idaho’s double overtime game, North Medford/Crater, Roseburg/Grants Pass, Klamath Union/Eagle Point, Henley/Phoenix and North Valley/Hidden Valley.
The North Medford boys strike first in the Black and Blue Series, beating South 57-49. The South girls cruise by North. Crater tops Roseburg in overtime. Eagle Point routs North Valley while the Phoenix girls upset Mazama.
The South Medford boys take out Roseburg in a close battle while Grants Pass continues to roll against Crater. Plus, our Game of the Week features the experienced Eagle Point Eagles versus the youth of Hidden Valley.
The #1 South Medford girls beat Jaime Nared and Westview 64-54, while the South Medford boys lose to Thurston. #2 Southern Oregon loses a back and forth thriller against Northwest Christian and new head coach Luke Jackson.
MEDFORD, Ore. — The Southern Oregon Subaru Christmas Classic tipped off on Thursday at Cascade Christian, with the host team winning a thriller over Ashland 66-63. Other featured games include the defending 4A champs Mazama taking on Dayton, the Vikings and Pirates boys and the Ashland/Cascade Christian girls.
MEDFORD, Ore. — Ashley Bolston scored 32 points and Andee Ritter added 24 as the South Medford girls beat Willamette 83-55 on Friday night. Both teams entered the game ranked #1 in the state, the Panthers in the 6A, the Wolverines in the 5A.
