JOB SUMMARY:
The position is 40 hours and may be scheduled for weekdays, weeknights and weekends. Responsible for all television programming on KDRV, KDKF and cable channel KDGP. This includes network programming, local programming, live programming as well as commercial insertion. Also included in this position is the recording and integration of programs and commercials into our system. Responsibilities of the position include remote monitoring and control of full power television transmitters.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:
This position primarily assists the duty Master Control Operator but will also be assigned to work vacation and sick relief for any of the Master Control shifts. The position requires the ability to work well with others, good oral communication skills, and to work well under pressure, while at other times requires the ability to work alone and make proper decisions quickly and under changing circumstances. The position also requires the ability to work unsupervised on a regular basis on nights and weekends.

SKILLS REQUIRED/QUALIFICATIONS:
Equipment that a successful applicant will be required to operate includes a video server, switchers and routers, various formats of videotape machines, computer control of various devices as well as monitoring scopes and indicators. There will be a skills assessment after 6 weeks of training. The finalist must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

MASTER CONTROL OPERATOR
PART-TIME

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Master Control experience preferred. Knowledge of above listed equipment preferred. Must be able to perform under pressure. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Job Functions:
Broadcasts programs and local breaks. Monitors all program elements as they are broadcast. Monitors transmitter operations for video and audio quality. Controls transmitters using remote control equipment. Records on videotape and videoserver – programs, news cutins and commercials from satellite feeds and “catch servers”. Interprets program logs and checks programming of Automation system to air programs and commercials as scheduled. Records commercials onto video server system from master videotapes, “catch servers” and DVDs. Attends Master Control Operations meetings as scheduled by the Master Control Supervisor.
Marginal Job Functions:
Assists maintenance engineers with preventive maintenance, performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Chief Engineer and/or the Master Control Supervisor.
Equipment Used:
Broadcast transmitter remote control, Master Control video and audio switcher, Automated Broadcast system, Emergency Alert System Encoder/Decoder, picture monitor, waveform monitor, vectorscope, video and audio routing switcher, audio and video patch panels, machine control panel, satellite receiving systems (digital and analog), personal computer, type C 1″ videotape recorders, BetaCam videocassette recorders, DVD recorder, “catch server”, CD player, audio amplifiers, two-way radio, telephone.
Physical Abilities:
Seeing, hearing, talking, fingering, sitting, reaching, handling, feeling, lifting, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching. Job pressure exists due to continuous deadlines. Job located 100 percent indoors.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The position is 25 hours weekdays, weeknights, weekends or overnight as needed. The finalist must successfully pass a pre-employment drug-screening test. This is a part-time, hourly position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Shooting, editing and writing stories for multiple content distribution platforms. Creatively producing stories and effectively using pictures and natural sound to tell a story, with strong audio/video linkage. Perform live shots from the newsroom and in the field.
