Vehicle Fire on I-5 Slows Traffic

car fireMEDFORD, Ore. — A motor home caught fire on Interstate 5, just off of the southbound on ramp at exit 30 about 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Police reported that propane tanks in the back of the motor home caught fire, and it is unknown how that fire ignited. The people in the car noticed carbon monoxide warning, and quickly pulled over and found the fire in the back of the vehicle.

Medford Police was first on scene, and reported that there was at lease one explosion which forced them to shut down both Southbound lanes as well as the North Medford Southbound on-ramp.

No one was hurt in the incident, and all lanes of traffic have been reopened.
