ASHLAND, Ore. — A couple is safe after their car crashed down a 15-foot embankment near Southern Oregon University early Wednesday morning.
Ashland Fire and Rescue workers responded to the accident which was dangerously close to the SOU Science Building where class was in session at the time.
The car ended up on its right side, balanced on a retaining wall off Roca Street. The couple was trapped inside while workers did what they could to free the pair.
Rescue crews had to secure the vehicle with rope, rescue air bags, and also jam cribbing underneath in order to stabalize the car. This in addition to the help from a tow truck, allowed them to extricate the man and woman from the vehicle.
Both recieved only minor injuries.
