Calmer & Cooler Week Ahead

video preview image

A long wave trough will be the main weather system impacting our area through the week keeping temperatures near normal and a mix of sun and clouds inland. Disturbances will wrap around the low off shore that will mainly bring rain north of our viewing area, but we could see spotty light showers at the coast with the passing of each disturbance; that means this afternoon into the evening and again late Wednesday into Thursday will be the best chance for a few showers at the coast. Slight chance for showers and thunderstorms in the Cascades today, besides that the threat for thunderstorms will diminish through the work week.

The trough will finally push inland over the weekend and this will bring a chance for rain for all areas late Saturday into Sunday. Looking ahead this could be a potent system bringing rain and potentially thunderstorms again. Stay tuned to Newswatch12 for the latest on this storm system.

Thanks for logging on and have a great Monday!
