First Friday Concerts: Quadrophonic – Space as Metaphor

Beginning Friday, August 1, Todd Barton and Bruce Bayard, performing as the duet Control Voltage Therapy, present a series of concerts every First Friday Schneider Museum of Art. Featuring two Buchla Easel electronic music instruments, and a quadraphonic sound system, Barton and Bayard explore “Space as Metaphor.” The concerts are every First Friday, August through December beginning at 11am. Some months will have special guests to be announced. The performances are free and open to the public.

Arc of Jackson Cty, LIfespan Respite has 2 Social CLubs for seniors experiencing memory loss, dementia, Alzheimer’s or any disability. We provide a low cost afternoon for caregivers of seniors where they can socialize, snack, play games, exercise, sing and feel a part of our community.

We currently have 2 Clubs, one in Ashland at Mt. View Assisted Living on Wednesdays from 12-4 and one in Medford at Wynwood of the Rogue Valley on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-4. These clubs are $6.50 per hour but financial assistance may be available.

Celebrate Recovery @ Ashland Gracepoint Church

Celebrate Recovery Meeting EVERY Friday at 6pm at 1760 East Main St. Ashland OR, 97520, Ashland Gracepoint Church! Please come and check us out and get freedom from your Hurts, Habits and Hang-Ups! We fellowship with Snacks, Coffee, Soda, Water, sing 3-4 songs and alternate between a lesson and a live testimony, break off into groups(Men with Men, Women with Women) and then fellowship again at the end. We are sorry that we do not have child care at this time. Come One, Come All and let Jesus help you with WHATEVER your struggle may be!

PASTURE MANAGEMENT @ OSU Extension, Josephine County

The information you need to improve and maintain a healthy pasture, whether you struggle with irrigation, over-grazing, weed invasion, or pasture nutrition. Forage species, soil, fertilization and livestock-appropriate information will be covered along with grazing management.

Friday Night Ballroom Dance @ Rogue River Community Center

Every Friday night, Tina Ferris and Rush Benke start beginners lesson at 7:00. Dances include: WALTZ, FOXTROT, RUMBA, CHA CHA, SWING AND MORE. Mixer and open dance starts at 8:00 ends at 10:00. All are welcome. Young or old, married or single, novice dancer or avid dancer, there is room or everyone. Fun, safe, alcohol free atmosphere – under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Crater Rock Museum Featured Artist – August/September

Annie Thomas, Crater Rock Museum’s featured artist for August and September, is “…obsessed with beads and crystals of all kinds.” Her works are beautiful and innovative. Necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings – all are works of art! She enjoys recycling old vintage jewelry, and said her favorite new designs are those that resemble Victorian era pieces. Her unique designs, creativity, and love of beading shows in her lovely creations! Annie’s jewelry is sold in the gift shop year-round; as the featured artist for August and September, selected pieces of her work will be on display.
