FOTAS Puss ‘n Boots Ball & Auction Fundraiser

Event Description:The Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS) is celebrating Halloween with its 23rd annual fundraiser, the Puss ‘n Boots Costume Ball and Auction, on Saturday, October 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 PM at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 B Street. Festivities include a no-host bar sponsored by SNYP (Spay/Neuter Your Pet), a delicious dinner catered by Quality Catering from Café Dejeuner (with vegetarian options available), both a silent and live auction, costume contest, and music by The Robbie DaCosta Band. Tickets are $45 each (includes dinner and dancing); Tables of 10 available for purchase also. Purchased your admission on-line at www.fotas.org,, or at Paddington Station in Ashland, by calling 541-482-8172, or at the door (if the event is not sold out) The Puss ‘n Boots Ball is the major annual fundraising activity for FOTAS, which is celebrating 24 years of service to the Jackson County Animal Shelter, located on South Pacific Highway (99) in Phoenix.  FOTAS provides more than 10,000 hours of volunteer services annually to the shelter, with volunteers who cuddle kitties, walk dogs, provide foster homes, transport animals for spay and neuter vet visits, and greatly improve the quality of life for animals in the Shelter as they wait for their fur-ever homes.  FOTAS funds the “2-Fur-1” program for cats and kittens and the reduced fees for some “WOW” adult dogs and cats. Happily, more than 1,700 animals have been reunited with their families or adopted into new, loving homes in the past year.

The Jackson County Animal Shelter, which FOTAS supports, is the ONLY animal shelter in Jackson County that accepts both surrendered and stray animals.  It is a spay/neuter before adoption Shelter – spay/neuter is included in the reasonably-priced adoption fees. Also included in the adoption price is a free wellness visit to a local veterinarian.

Puss ‘n Boots Ball Schedule:

  • 6:00 PM:  Festivities begin at 6:00 PM with a delicious catered buffer dinner by Quality Catering from Café Dejeuner (with vegetarian options available). Arrive earlier
  • 6:00 PM:  Silent Auction – a vast array of high-quality silent auction items are open for bidding.  Items include gift certificates to popular local restaurants, local wine, pet items, clothing, jewelry, art, and theater tickets.
