Bus Driver Involved In Crash Banned

PENDLETON, Ore. — A Canadian man, who was driving a tour bus that fatally crashed on an Oregon highway last month, has been banned from operating a commercial vehicle in the United States.

The U.S. Department of Transportation said the man was driving too fast for the icy conditions and ignoring federal limits on the amount of time he could be behind the wheel. Nine people died in that bus crash.

The agency has also banned a second driver who works for the tour company, saying the company was operating two motor coaches at the same time and the second driver was also going too fast.
