Burglary Arrest in Grants Pass

Police Investigation GRANTS PASS, Ore. — The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety report the arrest of a suspect in a burglary case that took place early Thursday morning on 1245 NW Cooke.

At 3:44 a.m., Grants Pass police officers responded to a report of a burglary on the above address, and soon learned the suspect(s) had left in a truck. A short time later, police were able to locate a truck matching the description behind the Wild River Inn. Police say stolen property taken in the burglary was located next to the suspect vehicle.

The suspect in the case was identified as Marie Mendivil. Police said she fled the truck on foot prior to police finding the truck. Police eventually located Medivil, hiding inside the secured fenced area of the Diamond Home Improvement Center. Mendivil was under a stack of steel beams where she was apprehended by K9 Brock.

Police say Mendivil was transported by AMR to Three Rivers Medical Center where she was treated for minor injuries sustained as a result of the incident. Following medical treatment, Mendivil was transported to the Josephine County Jail.
