NEAR TRAIL, Ore. — An argument between two brothers almost turned deadly.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, last night around 9:30 deputies were called to reports of a shooting near Trail on Elk Creek Road.

Deputies say the two brothers were in a disagreement when 32-year-old Joshua Chrisco took his brother’s 12-gauge, sawed off shotgun and shot it towards the trailer his brother was in.

The pellets from the shot broke through the window and hit the brother in the face. His brother suffered serious injuries and was transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center. Joshua Chrisco was arrested on two counts of assault, reckless endangering, and unlawful possession of a short-barreled firearm. His bail is currently set at $2,017,000.

Details regarding the disagreement are unclear, as each party is not cooperating with law enforcement. The sheriff’s office says alcohol was involved. The case will be forwarded to the Jackson County District’s Attorney’s Office for persecution.
