Boyce Confirmed as Suspect in Homicide

REEDSPORT, Ore. — Three days after a body was found on the Oregon coast investigators reveal the name of the suspect. He’s the same man booked in the San Francisco area for theft and kidnapping.

The Douglas County Major Crimes Team officially named 30-year-old Jeffrey Boyce as the primary suspect in this past weekend’s murder. He’s the man who was arrested Monday after allegedly carjacking two people in the San Francisco area.

Investigators are still not saying what the connection is between the homicide investigation and the bay-area crime spree. They’re still waiting to confirm the identity of the body found just south of Reedsport.

Coos County Deputies are not in charge of the investigation because the body was found outside their jurisdiction, but they did do a welfare check at the request of the Boyce’s mother on Monday.

Deputies say Boyce allegedly told his mother that his house and car had been bugged and someone was trying to kill him.
