Boy Scouts Celebrating the Fourth with Pancakes

By Danielle Craig

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — One Boy Scout troop is celebrating the Fourth by serving up pancakes.

Medford Boy Scout Troop 7 held it’s annual pancake breakfast. They were set up along the Central Point parade route, serving people throughout the morning.

Boy scouts with Medford Troop 7 didn’t miss a beat, serving up hundreds of pancakes for the Fourth of July. Despite three months of preparing, things didn’t go quite as planned: one of their griddles wasn’t working. But being resourceful is something these scouts know well, using a drywall mixer to mix the batter.

The Boy Scouts spent about three months setting up the morning meal. The breakfast is a fundraiser, but still, the scouts practiced their service skills. The troop expects to raise thousands of dollars; that money will help the boy scouts go to camp.
