GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Kelsey Box, a Southern Oregon Tuff Truck driver will be racing this weekend at the Josephine County Fair and before the races will be giving an exhibition of her specially designed truck. Box, was paralyzed in a car accident in January 2013, but has continued racing thanks to a specially designed truck that she can operate with only her hands. Box said she hopes by the end of the night, people will know her as more than just a talented racer.
“Just to show everybody with any disability that you can go out there and still kick butt and do what you want, not to take your life for granted, go out there and do what you want to do,” Box said.
The Tuff Truck races will be Friday at 6:30 at the grandstands. Her exhibition will be before the races, at 6:00.
