Bomb Discovered In Dunsmuir Neighborhood

Police Respond to Bank RobberyDUNSMUIR, Calif. — An investigation is underway after a bomb was discovered in a Siskiyou County neighborhood.

Sheriff deputies responded to the scene in Dunsmuir, California Tuesday afternoon to find a handmade explosive device. Deputies say it was made out of a one-inch galvanized pipe commonly known as a “pipe bomb.”

They say that a perimeter was established and railroad traffic was stopped. Even limited evacuations in the area were issued. A bomb technician was brought in to dispose of the device.

Deputies say they are still searching for a suspect.
