Body Found Near Tillamook Identified

NEAR TILLAMOOK, Ore. — Oregon State Police (OSP) and other agencies identified the body of a teenager found near Highway 6.

16-year-old Kayla Ann Hendrickson was first found 18 miles east of Tillamook along Highway 6 on January 18, 2013. Police determined she was a victim of  homicidal violence and died from gunshot wounds.

The person of interest in Hendrickson’s death is confirmed dead as well. According to a police report, the Tillamook County Major Crime Team and Humboldt County, California Sheriff’s Office say Newport-native Jacob Allen Green, 24, shot himself and died Saturday in Humboldt County.

Police say Green was operating a vehicle matching the description of the one in connection with Hendrickson’s death. Police say Green knew Hendrickson and is allegedly believed to be the only suspect involved in her death.
