MEDFORD, Ore. — At Monday night’s meeting, Medford Board of Education voted 4-1 in favor of full day kindergarten to be added to the Vibes Charter School program.
The board also unanimously approved 4th grade to be added as well.
Up until now, Vibes only offered grades one, two, and three. Administrators say this is a good opportunity for the school to expand and offer more options for parents and kids looking for an alternative to public school.
“We just think it’s really imperative to the families that we serve to do the most that we can with them and we believe this is a really good start,” said Executive Director of Vibes, Tom Cole.
Both the kindergarten and fourth grade classes at Vibes will be capped at 50 students, and will begin at the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year.
