GRANTS PASS, Ore. – The dream to create a wheelchair accessible playground at a Southern Oregon school is becoming a reality, but organizers say they need some help.
The project needs more than 10 volunteers by next Tuesday to help build a play structure with wheelchair ramps. There is currently only 1 person signed-up to help.
“Right now I’m just working on getting the volunteers and getting this playground built because without the volunteers there won’t be a rubber cuting with volunteers,” Mona says.
The project began when Mona wanted to create a playground for her disabled son. The hope is to have the playground complete by his birthday on August 20th. You can sign-up to volunteer on The Blue Slide Project’s Facebook page.
