PHOENIX, Ore. – In addition to Cedar Links, another Rogue Valley business is closing this month: the Rising Phoenix Biofuels station. Officials loaded and took away the local fuel on Thursday afternoon.
The founder says he’s to blame for the end of the venture. David Tourzan says he failed to get the community on board with using renewable fuels.
The 10% increase in price compared to normal gasoline might’ve also played a part. Rising Phoenix Biofuels was the first biodiesel station in the state, selling 20 million gallons total.
