Big Coat For Kids Contribution

MEDFORD, Ore. – The Southern Oregon Street Rods Club is a long time supporter of NewsWatch12’s Coats For Kids Campaign and on Thursday, members rolled up to the North Fred Meyer store to pack NewsWatch12’s red barrels with dozens of new coats.

There were beautiful cars packed full of brand new coats for children in need in our area. The members rolled them from the safety of the back parking lot to our collection site this afternoon. The Street Rods say they are happy to help out.

“It’s probably one of our better years, you know the economy has been tough, it’s been for all of us. So if we can help, that’s what we are going to do,” stated Ron Peil with Southern Oregon Street Rods.

Their generosity overwhelmed the two red barrels at Fred Meyer. NewsWatch12 had to make a special trip to get all the coats back to the studio to wait for distribution to Southern Oregon schools.
