MEDFORD, Ore. — Around 1:00 p.m. today, a 66-year-old bicyclist was riding northbound on Riverside Avenue when he struck the rear quarter panel of a vehicle that was making a right turn into a business, in front of the bicyclist.
Medford Police and Medical Personnel responded to the scene and the male victim was found unconscious. He was not wearing a helmet and sustained a head injury. He was transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center by ambulance where he was pronounced dead at 1:52 p.m.
Medford Police Officers, Detectives, and members of the Serious Accident and Traffic Reconstruction Team (STAR) are working on investigating the case. The man’s identity has not been released and his next of kin has not been notified.
