Burglar Hits Medford Neighborhood Twice

MEDFORD, Ore. — A West Medford neighborhood has been targeted twice by a burglar in the same day.

Police say the man on the bike is who they are looking for. A man who lives in the 700 block of Mindy Sue Street says he spotted the burglar standing near his neighbor’s yard. Later, his 85-year old neighbor called police after several thousands of dollars worth of her jewelry was stolen.

Police say the burglar entered her home through an unsecured window. They say he also stole property from another residence nearby. After these burglaries, residents plan to organize a neighborhood watch.

“I’ve talked to a few people here in the community and they’re willing to assist,” neighbor Cary Arnold commented. “I think that’s what we’ve got to do. We’ve got to regenerate. We got to take our neighborhoods back! This is ridiculous on the West Side.”

Neighbors say the two burglaries come at no surprise. Last month, five trailers were broken into around the area.

In the Sage Rd. area several work trailers have been stolen. Someone just pulls up, cuts the pad lock, hooks it up & it’s gone! It’s an epidemic in the area. Plus numerous things have been stolen from around the businesses in the area. There was a guy on a bicycle riding in the area @ the time.
