Beavers’ Mannion to Have Surgery

CORVALLIS, Ore. — KEZI 9 Sports reporter Stephen Nelson was reporting from Beavers practice today that Sean Mannion was walking with a limp. Later in practice, Nelson reported that Mannion will undergo knee surgery and miss an undisclosed amount of games.

Oregon State head coach Mike Riley told KEZI 9 Sports that he suffered the injury on a hand-off during the Washington State game on Oct. 6.

The 6′ 5″ sophomore from Pleasanton, California has had a breakout season in a year which finds the Beavers at No. 10 in several polls heading into this weekend’s game against BYU. Mannion has completed 63% of his passes and thrown for 7 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

Newswatch 12 Sports will have more on the story as it develops tonight.
