BEAR CAMP ROAD, Ore. — A weather advisory previously issued for Bear Camp Road has now been lifted.
Road engineers are confirming that the Bear Camp Road received only 1-2″ of snow at the highest elevations, which is considerably less than predicted. Due to the good condition of the road, officials with the forest service and the BLM are lifting a prior recommendation to avoid using it.
Motorists who choose to drive the Bear Camp Road are still advised to exercise considerable caution by slowing driving speeds, turning on lights, and being prepared to for blind corners.
Travelers are also urged to be prepared with extra food, warm clothing, water, and emergency equipment. Bear Camp Road should still be avoided by those driving with motorhomes, trailers or oversized vehicles.
