MEDFORD, Ore. — The first day of school is right around the corner. That means kids and parents may be shelling out big bucks for back to school shopping.
According to the National Retail Federation, nationwide Americans will spend close to 75 billion dollars on new clothes and school supplies. This number is up from years past.
When it comes to clothes and fashion, experts said it’s going back to patterns, jumpers, and high waited pants.
“Plaid is actually back in, in all kinds of colors, there is a red plaid, blue plaid, mixed patterns are back… very very hot, and layering is still good. Leggings are in and loose fitting pants are also back. They are actually called loose fit, “said Suzy Lewis, Vice President of Retail with Southern Oregon Goodwill.
This year more back to school shoppers will be heading online. Thirty- seven percent said they will be making purchases via tablets or smartphones.
