WOLF CREEK, Ore. — Oregon State Police are investigating an attempted murder in Wolf Creek. Officers are now looking for the suspect’s car.
Oregon State Police officers are on the lookout for a dark colored Dodge pickup with some driver side rear damage. According to police, early Tuesday morning, Oregon State Police received a call from Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass saying a man had been treated for multiple gunshot wounds.
43-year-old Shannon Jerome Shults was treated for non life-threatening injuries. Police say the shooting took place on Coyote Creek Road in Wolf Creek.
“We responded and learned that a subject had been shot out in the Wolf Creek area and we have been conducting an ongoing investigation since that time,” said Deanna Harris with Oregon State Police.
OSP officials say initially, Josephine County Sheriff Gil Gilbertson was contacted about the incident, but he requested Oregon State Police handle the investigation. Police are not releasing any more information at this time because of the ongoing investigation, but police are on the search for a specific vehicle for the murder suspect.
The vehicle is a mid-2000 black or dark colored Dodge pickup, potentially with some left rear damage and left front damage. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Oregon State Police.
