Ashland Vigil Remembers Shooting Victims

ASHLAND, Ore. — At the Ashland Plaza on Saturday, dozens gathered for a candlelight vigil in honor of the Connecticut school shooting victims. After several moments of silence, some in attendance shared their thoughts on the tragedy.

“We’re just part of something that’s happening all across the country, and I think that’s the significance of it is how everyone is feeling moved by this, maybe in a unique way,” said the Mayor of Ashland, John Stromberg.

The Ashland mayor was one of more than two dozen taking part in the vigil that was held to not only offer condolences to those who lost their lives in the tragedy on Friday, but also to honor those who lost their lives to gun violence in general.
