ASHLAND, Ore. — Ashland Police caught a suspected burglar just before making a getaway. Officers responded to reports of a break-in around 9 p.m. on Saturday. Police say it was at a woman’s home business on Pioneer Street.
Ashland Police say the woman called police because she heard someone inside the home. As police officers were securing the perimeter, officers reportedly saw Christopher Barr exiting out the side door carrying miscellaneous items.
Police say he appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance and displaying erratic behavior. Barr was first taken to a local hospital, but eventually he was released to police custody.
He was booked in the Jackson County Jail on charges of burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and trespassing. Police say he is a transient.
