ASHLAND, Ore. — Ashland Police officers spent the morning searching through the aisles for gifts at the top of 16 kids’ wish lists.
Saturday marked the 4th Annual “Shop with a Cop” Event. Each child got to spend a 100 dollar gift card at Walmart.
Ashland Police officers helped the kids pick out their favorite toys, games, and treats. The Ashland Police Department says every year, they work with Saint Vincent De Paul to choose the families in need.
“We understand that everybody has difficult times in their lives, and its great as a police organization to be able to give back to the folks in our community that could use a little extra help around this holiday season,” said Ashland Police Sergeant Warren Hensman.
The event is meant to help kids have a happier holiday and interact with law enforcement in a positive setting.
