MEDFORD, Ore. — This weekend local horticulture vendors are showing off just in time for Mother’s Day. Food vendors, beer and wine tasting, and artisans will also join the holiday celebration in downtown Medford for this year’s Art in Bloom.
Traffic was blocked off as of Friday afternoon so the vendors could set up for the weekend. 80 to 90 vendors of all kinds will be at the event. The festival will take over the city from Riverside to Front and Sixth to Eighth Streets.
This year’s event coordinator, Cindy Bedingfield comments on one of her favorite parts of the festival, ”I always love Floyd Williams, he has carnivorous plants and everything in his booth eats something alive whether it’s an aphid or a fly.”
There will be lots of horticulture to check out at the festival. This includes live entertainment, glass blowers, food, a beer and wine garden, and crafts for kids. Part of the funding raised at the event will benefit local arts and education of the youth.
