MEDFORD, Ore. — Two gardens are joining forces to showcase creativity for a good cause. Friday in Ashland, Art for the Garden and Home featured gardens displaying artwork for the community to view and purchase.
Master Gardner Marydee Bombick, along with friend Cheryl, began the annual sale six years ago in honor of a family friend who passed away from cancer. The artwork features 25 different artists who come from Oregon, Northern California, and even as far away as New Zealand.
“It’s a lot of work but we have a lot of fun doing it and we’ve had a lot of people who are really getting a lot of very positive comments about our work,” Marydee says. “Every year the number of artists changes a little bit.”
The sale of the artwork runs through the weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Children Cancer Association in Portland.
