(CNN) — Crowds formed early Monday morning outside of the Arkansas courthouse as eager couples lined up to get married. Arkansas’ ban on same-sex marriage was overturned Friday. A State judge declared the voter-approved measure unconstitutional. Same-sex couples were cleared to get married immediately.
Some waited in long lines for marriage licenses on Saturday, but there wasn’t enough time to meet everyone’s demand. Arkansas is now among 17 States, along with Washington D.C., that allows same-sex marriage.
