BUTTE FALLS, Ore. — More than 80 archers from around the state have descended on Butte Falls this weekend.
The Beekman Ridge Archery Range is playing host to the third leg of the Oregon Bow Hunters Association Triple Crown. This 3D archery tournament tests the shooters’ skills by having them shoot different targets, simulating real-life hunting scenarios.
While the archers enjoy the challenge of the competition, organizers say there are other benefits to 3D archery. “It’s a great way for archers to hone in their skills and also it’s a great way for hunters to prepare for hunting season,” said Scott Stritenberg of Beekman Ridge Archery.
The tournament wraps up Sunday and the winners will get trophies for the highest scores from all three events from the year.
