The holiday weekend is turning out be rather pleasant for all locations across the viewing area. Temperatures steadily climbed into the mid to upper 80’s this afternoon. Medford managed to reach 90 while Klamath Falls hit 87. A warming trend has now begun, and temperatures are going to continue to climb through early next week. This warming trend will be a heat wave for the Rogue Valley as well as Siskyou County, meaning highs will be in the 90’s for at least three days consecutively. Other locations such as the East Side, the Cascades, and of course the Coast, will have highs in the 80’s.
Thunderstorms are not in the forecast, as their is not enough moisture or lift for them to really be a problem. Wednesday seems to be our transition day, where high temperatures begin cooling. The cooling trend will continue into the weekend before another heat wave moves in. This heat wave looks to be of similar strength to the last, where triple digits were so prevalent. This could change though over the course of the week.
Safe travels this holiday weekend!
