Another Downtown Medford Fire

MEDFORD, Ore.– Medford Police and Medford Fire are still investigating the cause of an apartment fire off an alley behind 235 N. Ivy Street.

The fire broke out on Monday afternoon around 1 p.m.

Officials said though the cause is unknown at this point, and they have the fire listed as suspicious. Investigators are looking into whether it might be related to the other recent arson fires.

Police said a neighbor in the area saw the fire and instructed a coworker to call 911. Deborah Fay was able to then locate a garden hose and put the fire out before first responders were even on scene.

“I would just say for people to really have a vigilant eye on what’s going on in their neighborhood. Especially in alleys lately. All we need is one break, if, you know, we are going to catch this suspect, and we need some really key information,” said Medford Fire and Rescue Marshall Greg Kleinberg.

If you have any information about the Ivy Street fire or any of the other arson related fires in the area, you are encouraged to call the Medford Police Department at (541) 774-2250.

  1. Can't say says:

I am amazed that the fires continue since the police “arrested” my son for all the other arsons. He is not guilty…what is it…17 arsons since June 25th!
