WHITE CITY, Ore. – A national food manufacturer is expanding its White City plant.
Local experts confirm Amy’s Kitchen, a California-based manufacturer of frozen and organic food, is investing $19 million in the expansion. The company originally built its Southern Oregon plant in 2006. Since then, it has grown from roughly 250 employees to more than 700.
Ron Fox, Executive Director with Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development, Inc. (SOREDI) says Amy’s Kitchen will likely continue to be a reliable source of local jobs.
“Their employment growth in Jackson County has been consistent with their corporate growth,” said Fox. “They just grow every year as more consumers buy their product.”
Fox also says this is exactly the kind of company the Rogue Valley wants to attract, producing little pollution while providing a vital push to the economy.
