GRANTS PASS, Ore. – A Grants Pass man who detectives believed had terrorist tendencies was sentenced to three years in prison but will only serve two years.
The U.S. Attorney pushed for a 7 year sentence saying 27-year-old Raphael Amoroso was a danger to the public, but the federal court judge said in court he believed Amoroso could turn his life around and sentenced him to three years.
Amoroso has already served one year and will get credit for that time. Last year in October police arrested Amoroso for an initial DUII stop discovering he brought a loaded gun to school. Investigators also found multiple firearms, a silencer, how-to books on making bombs, body armor and pro-terrorist books at his home.
