Amber Alert Issued for Washington Teen

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for a Washington girl.

The Amber Alert website says the victim, 14-year-old Elizabeth Romero, was seen getting into a green Ford Escape, early 2000’s, at 1800 W 7th Ave. Kennewick in Washington state.

According to Kennewick Police Department, Romero left school for lunch on Wednesday afternoon and got into her boyfriend’s forest green Ford Escape sport utility vehicle with a temporary license tag in the window.

Police say Romero did not return to school and her mother contacted their police department later that afternoon to file a report. On Friday, the girl’s mother received a text message from an unknown phone number from a person identifying herself as Elizabeth, stating she was headed to Mexico with her boyfriend. The mother asked the person on the phone to send a current photo of her but that was ignored.

Elizabeth Romero is described as a Hispanic female, 5’3″, 130 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing white top and dark pants, and had a backpack and pink purse.

The suspect is identified as Edwardo Flores Rosales, age 19. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5’9″, 225 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.

The family believes the suspect is en route Mexico with the victim. Kennewick Police Department is investigating as a kidnapping. If anyone sees the suspect vehicle in Oregon please call 9-1-1 or Oregon State Police at 1-866-5AMBER5 (1-866-526-2375).
