“DNA-The Genealogist’s Newest Tool” presented by Robert Givens. Robert Givens has agreed to travel from his home in Fresno, CA to share the information everyone is trying to understand. This presentation provides a short DNA For Dummies-type overview of what DNA is and how it applies to genealogy. Items covered are: The three main types of genealogical DNA tests, what these tests tell us and don’t tell us, and how we can benefit from them. Results from some DNA tests are shown as part of the presentation. This lecture includes a handout with a list of the major companies offering DNA tests. Cost: members $10. non-members $15.
