MEDFORD, Ore. — A Medford man last seen at a bank nearly a week ago is still missing. 87-year-old Truman Tollefson’s family said he was last seen at a Wells Fargo bank. Since then, his granddaughter and close friends have passed out hundreds of fliers and launched a search party.
Medford Police officers are now expanding their search to include areas outside the city limits. On Monday, they teamed up with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Asearch and rescue team canvassed east Medford out near Highway 140 and Dead Indian Memorial Road. Medford Police said they focused their efforts there after some tips poured in.
“So, that kind of gave us a direction where we could at least start looking. So we have search and rescue with the the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. They are searching where he was possibly seen,” said Medford Police Lt. Mike Budreau.
“It’s getting really hard because you’re trying to hang onto anything and trying to think of anything, but at this point, after the search, I mean, everybody we know has gone everywhere,” said granddaughter Amanda Wolfe.
The search and rescue team did not see Truman or his car. He drives a Silver Buick Century with a broken right rear brake light, covered with red tape. If you recognize the car or see Truman, you’re asked to contact police.
Officers and the search and rescue team plan to continue their efforts for the next couple of days.
