MEDFORD, Ore. — A man accused of taking pictures of children while they were changing appeared in court on Thursday for his arraignment.
Former gymnastics coach Jeffery Scott Bettman was charged again Wednesday morning on charges of encouraging child sex abuse and using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct.
In court, Bettman’s appearance was very brief as a bail hearing was set for April 18th and a pretrial was scheduled for April 29th.
In November, he was arrested after the Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force found evidence he had taken pictures of young gymnasts undressing, without the children’s knowledge.
Bettman had previously worked at Southern Oregon Gymnastics Academy, Rogue Valley School of Gymnastics, and most recently at Ultimate Sports Gymnastics.
