MEDFORD, Ore. — Your green thumb could help put fresh meals on the tables of families in need; it’s part of the “Plant A Row” campaign.
ACCESS is asking gardeners to designate a row or even just a plant to donate. The fresh produce will then go to access food share. Last year, ACCESS received 7,000 pounds of produce from local’s own gardens. The contributions help supplement the non-perishable donations ACCESS receives.
ACCESS says even if you don’t participate by designating a full row or plant to the cause, you can drop off any extra produce at its warehouse. If you don’t have your own garden, you can always help by volunteering at one of the agency’s food share gardens.
