Abortion Ban Ballot Fails

AbortionSALEM, Ore. — An effort to change Oregon’s long standing law on abortion has fallen apart.

Supporters of a measure that would prohibit the use of state funds for abortion services, say they’ve failed to qualify for the November ballot. Officials say, they only collected 95 thousand of the 117 thousand signatures needed to get the issue in front of voters.

This is the second consecutive year the measure has failed to get enough support.
