MEDFORD, Ore. — Not everyone knows how to eat a pomegranate or what kale tastes like and kids are not always willing to try out new healthy food.
On Tuesday, however, some Southern Oregon kids were offered a fun environment for experimenting with vegetables and fruit.
At the Farm-To-Market event at Oak Grove Elementary, the gym held exhibits and presentations about food, dairy, agriculture, and healthy eating.
The cafeteria was set up for the A-Z Salad Bar with an assortment of 26 fruits and vegetables with nutrition listings placed on top.
Classrooms were rotated through the gym and then to the salad bar. Kids seemed pretty open to trying the new foods.
