GRANTS PASS, Ore. – On Friday, Mona Pinon trekked from Medford to Grants Pass for a good cause. Half a dozen people joined her in a 33 mile walk by foot to raise money for Blue Slide.
The purpose of the walk was to raise awareness to build more handicap-friendly play structures for children with disabilities. Blue
Slide has built one wheelchair accessible playground so far and hope to continue building more.
“In Southern Oregon we have the only wheelchair accessible playground, so we’re hoping that it will inspire other parents to want to do something,” said Pinon.
The generosity of sponsors allowed for the walk to happen. Blue Slide hopes to continue fighting for the cause of all inclusive playgrounds with the help of donations.
