High pressure will be strengthening today and should be strong enough to keep a cold front that’s currently offshore north of our area. The result of this front will be passing clouds through the day with some areas seeing clearing in the afternoon, especially at the coast, mountains and northern California. Some areas of fog this morning will stick around through the afternoon and will really hinder the amount of daytime heating those areas that see fog linger can do. The warmest areas today will be at the ridges and coast, and especially the Brooking’s area as the Chetco effect ramps up today.
A storm system brewing in the Pacific will cause high waves at the coast this weekend with occasional waves up to 25 feet. Extra caution should be taken for those at the coastline this weekend. We’ll continue to stay dry through the weekend with our next chance for precipitation and cleaner air moves in Tuesday.
I’ll be updating my Facebook with air quality levels, road and weather reports. If you have a weather photo I’d love to have you share them with me on my page! Thanks for logging on and have a great Thursday!
